Thinking about DP x DC Jason Todd being a revenant again. Here's my scenario. Jason gets called that by some ghost. He's like "what the fuck is that supposed to mean?" He's heard the term before but he doesn't know any actual lore. He googles it. He scrolls past the Leonardo DiCaprio bear movie. He opens the wiki. Sees the words "animated corpse" and gets a chill diwn his spine. He starts reading the first section.

He closes Wikipedia.

That night he has a nightmare that his family buried him, again, this time with precautions. He wakes up in his own grave, full of stones, too heavy to move, to scream.

Thinking about how Telemachus has heard "You are just like your father" by so many people for most of his life. How different yet refreshing it is to hear said father tell him warmly "You're so much like your mother".

I love the narrative as a prison. I love when things escape the narrative.

I love Katniss withholding the names of her children at the end of the Hunger Games!

I love the ambiguity of Lucy Gray's fate!

They, for the most part, escaped the narrative! Lucy Gray had to perform in the Capitol! Katniss had to perform in the Capitol and for the rebels! Their lives were forced into narratives! And then, the story ends, and they are free! The rest of their lives (whether short or long) are theirs!

It's way funnier to me to imagine that Geralt is the one who desperately wants Dandelion to winter at Kaer Morhen with him but Dandelion keeps saying no on the simple grounds that it's too fucking cold and do you want me to die Geralt? Do you want me to get hypothermia and fucking die?

And Geralt's like "please I am begging on my knees I will cuddle you every night to keep you warm I just need to prove you actually exist"

There's something so beautiful about Cass' belief in people. Not only is it consistently rewarded, but it's often the very thing that allows people to change:

That quote always brings me to tears. Because it's so true. It's an acknowledgement that Soulless Spike was more than just the demon that possessed him when he died. William remained. Suppressed and controlled by the vampire soul inside of him, but still there. And when that trace of who he had been as a human fell in love with Buffy, it grew stronger and stronger and stronger. And being surrounded by good people increased it even more. Especially the love he grew to have for Dawn as well, because I absolutely believe that he loved her too, and the fact that it was a paternal love rather than a romantic love was, I think, helpful on an even deeper level. Spike was surrounded by love, and that bit of William that remained was bolstered so much by that love that it grew stronger than his vampire soul. He faced the monster inside of him, and he fought back. And he fucking won.

it's sometimes so silly to look in the notes of a polyamory art/post and see people like "is this cheating art....?" when the characters in canon are all extremely close friends. i know it's not malicious because most people think of monogamy as the default and anything outside that Must be cheating, but truly i'm always like. guys. guys Please.

please think about this for like 2 seconds.

under what circumstances do we think this non-canon couple might hold hands directly in front of their canon partners. and under what circumstances do we think the canon partners might be okay with this. do we Truly think this is a secret relationship. do we Truly think these guys would sneak around behind their canon partners' backs when all of them are extremely close friends with a high level of trust and commitment to each other.

would assuming that these extremely close friends have actually communicated with one another Exactly The Same Way They Do In The Canon Source Material perhaps cause less despair.....

FONTAINE SPOILERS

Imagine if melusine y/n decided to work on Fontaine while traveler is visiting and ends up going to watch the trials while Tartaglia’s trial

(Me? Me personally I’d laugh the second he gets bodied by Neuvillette. Going to fortress of meropede to comfort him. :( he’s pouting)

now i'm just imagining a little Melusine having to peek over the railing in order to see the trial which is ADORABLE

of course Neuvillette gets you a nice seat, somewhere high and tucked away from everyone else. Lady Furina is too busy with the trial to notice a lone Melusine anyways- or, so he hopes. he can always make some excuse or another. your little tail wags as you sit in the plush seat, drumming your stubby feet in anticipation. a real Fontainian trial! you've only heard of them before you were thrown into this land. it's a shame Foul Legacy can't be here to watch it with you, but his monstrous appearance would send the civilians into a panic, and as funny as it would be after they tormented you, it would put both of you in danger. your antennae perk up as a hush falls over the crowd, and you crane your head to see the accused take the stage- only for a shot of ice to run through your veins at the familiar ginger hair that greets you

you can do nothing but frantically look between Tartaglia and Neuvillette, praying for the Iudex to notice. he doesn't, and you're forced to watch the trial wax and wane, pacing around your little box in the Opera. for a while, all seems well, and you think perhaps all will end smoothly, for you KNOW your Harbinger didn't commit such a crime!! but then the Oratrice spits out its little slip, and Neuvillette reads the world guilty. you jump as the air crackles with electricity, Foul Legacy engulfing Tartaglia's body at his command and rage, yelping in dismay and anguish when your calm, caring Iudex is forced to strike him down. The citizens of Fontaine are all in awe- this is all some performance, some entertainment to them- except for Lady Furina and the peculiar Traveler with golden hair

nobody notices a little Melusine running after the meka dragging Tartaglia over their shoulders
